Welcome, I’m Christina LaMonica and I have a passion for working with moms and dads navigating the ups and downs of parenting.

As a mother of three, who experienced miscarriage and postpartum depression, I came to understand the confusion, isolation and darkness that can come with pregnancy loss, as well as the day-to-day challenges of mothering. It can be draining, both physically and emotionally. Isolation from friends or not having supporting or understanding extended family can leave us feeling high and dry. We desire to make positive, healthy choices for ourselves and for our sweet children, but we can become burned out and exhausted. Maybe this new role of parenting or the desire to become a parent is also taking its toll on your marriage or relationship. When we are emotionally drained and lacking energy, we often struggle to communicate effectively and compassionately with the ones we love.

But, we can find relief, support, inner strength and peace in reaching out for help!

I love the work I do and I believe the therapeutic relationship to be a powerful component for long-lasting change. My goal with therapy is to provide you with a supportive environment, while equipping you with tools for self-compassion, self-insight, developing self-care, and strategies for maintain positive changes in your life. Whether you’re coping with post-partum adjustment, infertility or loss, coping with the typical challenges of parenting, or growing your family through foster care and adoption, I am here for you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#74312), who has been practicing for over 13 years. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Minor in Sociology, from California State University, Fullerton, and my Master’s Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Children, Youth and Families from the University of Southern California, Graduate School of Social Work.

I have been working with parents and children in a variety of settings including preschools, elementary and middle schools, and in private practice. Additionally, I worked as Program Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor of an adoption agency in Los Angeles County, specializing in adoption through foster care, for more than 12 years. I have a special connection in working with pregnant women, new moms, children, adolescents, foster or adoptive parents, and couples.

I work to provide supportive, client-focused treatment to meet your and your family’s unique needs. I strive to be empathetic, non-judgmental and accepting of what you are going through. I incorporate several evidence-based practice perspectives including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems therapy, attachment therapy and person-centered therapy. I aim to meet you where you’re at and provide the combination of styles that best serves you.

Parenting is a journey and there’s no need to go it alone. I’d love to work with you and be a support along your way.
