Child & Teen Therapy

We believe that collaboration between the therapist, child, and family is essential for successful therapy outcomes.

By working with parents and well as their children, we can ensure all involved have the skills and knowledge necessary to support a child's progress outside of therapy sessions.

Types of Therapy We Offer

At Cottonwood Psychology Center, we understand that each child and adolescent is unique and may require a personalized approach to therapy.

We offer several evidence-based treatment modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, family therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Our therapists are trained to tailor each session to meet the needs of the child or teen and their family, using techniques that are developmentally appropriate and effective. We provide in-office or remote teletherapy options

Our Approach

Child and teen therapy at Cottonwood Psychology Center is designed to help children and adolescents address a variety of emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.

Our therapists work closely with clients and their families to identify and treat issues such as:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • ADHD

  • Trauma

  • Behavioral problems

  • Relationship issues

  • Perfectionism

  • Identity

  • Conflicts with peers

  • Struggles at home

We provide a safe and supportive environment where children and teens can express themselves freely and work towards their therapeutic goals.

Our Programs

In addition to individual therapy, we offer group therapy programs designed to address specific challenges faced by children and adolescents. Our group therapy programs focus on social skills development, anxiety management, and ADHD management.

These programs provide a supportive environment for children and teens to practice new skills, learn from one another, and build lasting connections through processes that allow them to

  • Creatively express themselves through art

  • Become adept at socializing and communication

  • Process feelings and emotions

Parents of kids or teens who are struggling can also join our parent support group to further solidify developing skills that can benefit the whole family.
