We’re building Cottonwood Psychology with a simple idea in mind: make psychology clear, useful, and grounded in real evidence. We’re a digital publication created by psychology professionals, and our goal is to help everyday readers understand how the mind shapes daily life. We share education, not therapy or medical advice.

Where we are now

We’re not hiring full-time roles at the moment. That said, we’re always interested in hearing from people who care about mental health literacy and responsible science communication.

Roles we expect to open

As we grow, we plan to bring on contributors such as:

  • Writers and researchers for original psychology stories and explainers
  • Licensed professionals to provide expert review and oversight
  • Editors experienced in digital publishing, fact-checking, and ethical sourcing

What we look for

  • Clear, engaging writing for a general audience
  • Comfort reading studies and summarizing evidence responsibly
  • Respect for ethics, lived experience, and inclusive language
  • Willingness to follow our editorial standards for sourcing and accuracy

How to reach out

If you’d like to be considered for future opportunities, send a brief introduction and any relevant writing samples, portfolio links, or a resume to the email listed on our Contact page. Use the subject line “Contributor – Your Name.” We’ll review your materials and keep them on file for when a role is a fit. We usually reply within 1-2 business days.

What to include

  • A few lines on your background and interests
  • Links to 2-4 samples (published or unpublished)
  • Any credentials or licenses relevant to psychology or health writing
  • Topics you’re excited to cover

Inclusion matters here

We welcome contributors from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. Good psychology is for everyone, and our team reflects that.
