Welcome, I am Violet, a licensed clinical social worker. I have been helping individuals, like you, to reach their goals, mend relationships, overcome traumas and improve their lives for nearly a decade. Prior to my work with the perinatal population, I worked with children, teens, families, couples and adults. I am experienced in working with depression, anxiety, trauma, life adjustments, stress management, grief and loss, infertility, and pregnancy and postpartum stressors.
In 2018 I began to further my education in perinatal mental health through training with 2020 Mom and later Postpartum Support International. I was fortunate enough be able to help in building a perinatal mental health collaborative program for those who were struggling with infertility, loss, anxiety and postpartum depression. The journey to parenthood can sometimes be long, challenging and scary. Pregnancy and new motherhood also has the unique ability, at times, to bring up past experiences. I am here to help you along on that journey, hopefully lessen the load a bit and help you be better prepared for any other challenges you may face along the way.
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy isn’t always easy, which is why feeling comfortable and safe with your therapist is most important to your success. I take a collaborative approach in therapy, starting where you are and working together to make positive changes.
As a trauma informed therapist, I also consider the biological perspective of mental health and the important role of our mind-body connection. I practice strengths based, person-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TF-CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and EMDR.
A Little More About Me
I am a first generation Latinx woman who received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies in 2009, and a Master of Social Work in 2013. Although it is not my first language, I am bilingual in Spanish.
I whole heartedly believe in the healing power of relationships and therapy, as I have seen the positive affects it can have. If you are ready to begin your healing journey and think we might be a good fit, I’d love to work with you! Thank you and I wish you well on your therapy journey.
